I was diagnosed with Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSHL) on my left ear about a month back. Just like others I went through steroids (prednisone and the in-ear injection), I was able to regain my hearing back (thanks to God and family member prayers),however I still have the tinnitus and finding it difficult to handle just like others. Even though my audio tests claim I got my hearing, I still find it annoying in noisy places.
My ENT had recommended to see an otology/neurotology specialist for second opinion. Not sure if that would be of any help?
I am looking for suggestions...
Should I give another 2 months to see if my EAR recovers before I go for any further treatments/opinions?
Is there anything I can do to improve in the next two months (eg: diet, vitamin, etc?)?
Should I keep my left ear always protected?
I have made my mind to habituate to tinnitus, however everyday I still get depressed on how I am going to handle this life long. Like others I also wish there is some hope for us all in near future.
