So we all know that we should be careful with any medicine that is ototoxic because it causes damage to the inner-ear. I recently had two different doctors prescribe me medicine for something totally unrelated. I was VERY CLEAR in that I cannot have any ototoxic medicines, and they told me that these medicines were fine.

Lo and behold..' the first doctor actually did not even check, and the medicine that he prescribed was actually listed as one of the ones that was highly ototoxic. The second doctor and pharmacy swore that it would be fine, however I still got a spike.

So, I guess the takeaway that I want to share here is this. Even though you get prescribed something, and they say it is safe, still always check yourself.

Also, just because something does not say it on the label, does not mean that it cannot have a reaction. Trust yourself!

If you feel you have a reaction to it, you most likely are.
