Hi All,

I have had tinnitus in my right ear for 7 weeks now. It came on when I had anxiety & depression and I am on treatment for these issues. The tinnitus came on before I went on Mirtazapine so I know it is not the cause.

I have been to an ENT specialist and an audiologist and am waiting to try the Neuromonics sound therapy device. I am meditating, trying to keep myself busy but at times this tinnitus is really getting me down.

I just need some reassurance that things will improve with time. I cannot work since it started.

Yes, it can improve but it can also worsen if you expose yourself to very loud sounds, avoid blender, leaf blower, clubs, concerts, etc.

It often gets better indeed. Good luck!

I try not to be negative with my responses but wanted to say that Neuromonics can be expensive with no guaranteed results. I have a friend who spent thousands on it and didn't benefit from it at all. So unless it's covered by insurance or some other means, consider carefully looking into it before investing.

When my anxiety improved I was able to handle tinnitus. It was an out of the body experience for a long time. My anxiety came after tinnitus. I kept working, but I work in an office. But offices do have noise. You can make it thru, I use a fan, sound machine to help me thru the day. You need to keep your mind steady.
