So for the third time in less than two weeks I'm getting another tone and if I listen really carefully it sounds like music.

I really hope it's just my brain tricking me but I'm in a very anxious state right now. I had musical tinnitus after a really bad alcohol withdrawal a few months ago and it took a few weeks to go away but I'm not really sure if it ever went away or just died down and my other tinnitus tones tuned it out.

I had 5 beers last night for the first time since the withdrawal so that could be the reason. Hope it goes away as this is 100x more terrifying then regular tinnitus.

It's probably a spike from the amount of alcohol, and perhaps the social even that you attended? I had a few Christmas events that initially introduced some new tones, but it passed after a day or two. Hope yours get better. It's just the stress from the hectic season that could be adding to it.

I really hope it is. But 5 beer doesn't seem like it could be enough to have any major effect on my brain. I was barely buzzed. Maybe I have permanent damage done from previously drinking in excessive. I'm having a very hard time getting through the day with my recent spikes in T. I don't think I can make it with the added music hallucination... When I googled people having musical tinnitus induced by alcohol withdrawal it only died down after, it never went away. This stress can't be helping but I can't seem to shake the anxiety. Taking pills is just playing Russian Roulette.

      Hi @ItsNate101 ...
I know how terrifying it can be but you can try to distract yourself at those times or do some deep breathing exercises.
      We are here for you.
Give it some time day by day one at a time.
      I wish you well..

Alcohol downregulates the GABA receptors in the same way as benzos do.

If I were you, I'd stay clear of both and let it settle.

Could try some GABA precursors like taurine...magnesium...passion flower in the meanwhile.

Benzos as well? I just took one a few hours ago to help calm me down during a panic attack. I thought benzos help with this stuff..just the withdrawal was bad. I dont take them often this is maybe the 5th pill in two months.

      Yes..

Are you under any sort of supervision for your WD from alcohol?

Just my opinion, but i think dabbling with benzos has the potential towards a slippery slope..

Addit, have you tried inositol, omegas ???

No I'm not under any supervision. I dont have a family doctor or anything. Why, should I be? I mean I should of been for the first week or two as It was really severe. I still only feel back to 50% and it's been over two months. My T went from a 3-4/10 to a 10/10, when I'm anxious it's even worse. The music is a whole new level.. I dont understand why i keep getting more tones and the music is coming back. It seemed for the first month it was getting better now it's getting worse. @DebInAustralia I have not tried those pills. I just take B complex, zinc, magnesium, garlic and ginkgo biloba

Well it's been about 4 days since my auditory hallucinations came back. Sounds like a toy for a baby to calm down. It's not super loud but its deep in my head and I can almost feel the tune.

My tinnitus is louder but my brain won't stop focusing on the tune. Really hoping this goes away I'm loosing my marbles. Called mental health and they told me to go to the hospital so here I am. Been waiting for hours. No idea what to expect here I doubt anyone will have a solution. Everyone I have talked to has never even heard of this before.

Yesterday and last night the music was more sporadic and random but not as loud. Today it's more intense but more of a distinctive melody. I am not on any medication. I had a few beers on Christmas day but I don't see the connection.

Not sure if it's stress, psychosis or what is causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel like the doctor here in emergency won't take this seriously and will probably be more confused about it than I am.

Hey man, I know it's been years since you wrote this but how are you feeling? Did your musical tinnitus go away?
