The COST, an organisation of European countries + Turkey is supposed to coordinate and fund research in science, medecine and erm... other stuff. It has started a project about tinnitus. They speak about neurophysiology so it probably won't be about the usual counseling babble. Finally some European public funding for tinnitus.

The following piece of information may have flown under the radar for some time (but has been mentioned on TT before):

http://tinnet.tinnitusresearch.net/...-groups/tinnitus-working-groups-overview.html

Quote - in part - from the TINNET website:
Previous genetics endeavours in complex disease have shown that uniform sample recruitment standards and detailed phenotyping as well as appropriate endophenotyping using intermediate traits are an inevitable prerequisite to succeed. These tools will be developed by specialized working groups in this Action.

TINNET stands for Tinnitus Network and New Treatments for Tinnitus (reverse order).
