Tinnitus — Two Tones Now... :( Some Questions

For past week or so, noticing two tones in my tinnitus now.

One if a hum and one a shrill pitch on top of that.

Does this mean that both of ears have T or it can happen from the same ear also ?

It can happen from the same ear.

 

I have ultra high pitched, normal pitched, shrill and very low humming tinnitus. So that means I have almost 5 different tones. You have to hear inside of my head. I have my T in both ears and in the head. Oh, almost forgot to mention. I also have some pulsatile T in my right ear.

It's pretty common to have multiple tones. Over time, I and a number of people I have spoken to find they reduce in number. At its worst, I had 10 or more tones, but now it is generally 1-4 discreet tones and most of the time just 2, but it has taken 2 years since onset to get to this point.

 

Started off with two tones like a police siren with odd bits of morse code thrown in. All in left ear. 4 months in generator/humming noise appeared in right ear. Now also getting periodic pulsatile tinnitus in left ear. Makes natural sleep well nigh impossible.
All part of the suffering in this existence.
I went for an audiology test in a big local hospital last week. The place was packed like a small city. Many were obviously cancer victims. Made me very aware of just how much misery and suffering is really out there. Our suffering is just part of this larger mass.
