Hi everyone. About a month after I had a brain surgery craniotomy to clip a ruptured aneurysm I have developed tinnitus.

My neurosurgeon doesn’t think this is common.

Has anybody heard or experienced this?

I’m new to this forum. Thank you everyone.

Tinnitus is not ringing in the ear but technically a malfunction of the auditory brain usually in response to hearing loss, however other things like neck jaw problems and something going wrong in the brain can also lead to tinnitus.

Also because you had an aneurysm you need to check to make sure you don't have pusatile tinnitus which is an unrelated vascular condition.

Likely a minor bleed in my subarachnoid
Hi @capecrusader , I had a non-aneurysm subarachnoid hemorrhage in June and have had multiple crazy tones in my head ever since. It’s very challenging, and also not that uncommon for those who experience a brain injury.

If you haven’t already, I suggest you check out behindthegray.com - it’s a hemorrhage and stroke support group that I have found to be helpful.
