I have had ringing in both ears for the past year. When it first started it sounded like cicadas and was very faint, but it changed to more of a louder ringing sound for a few months, then went back to cicadas.
I've been to so many different specialists and I've been put through some tests that felt more like torture, only to be told my ears are fine and I'll just have to learn to live with it. My dentist said it's probably due to clenching my teeth and stress. I wear a night guard, get massages and do everything I've been told to do, but nothing helps.
I'm exhausted! I can't sleep, even with using a sound machine. It's depressing...plain and simple. I really don't know how much longer I can deal with this without some kind of relief. People who have not experienced tinnitus don't seem to understand what a living hell this can be.
I came here for support and to know that I'm not alone in dealing with this.
