I have been suffering with tinnitus for about 8 months now, and as recently as two weeks ago I got light headed with some headaches as well.

Since getting the above, my tinnitus has gotten markedly worse and has not lessened after a while as it did in the past.

Anyone have an answer or what I could do?
      Thanks in advance

      Hi @Lefty11 .

The first thing I would recommend is remain calm. Most people recover from tinnitus within a year or two. I know that sounds like a very long time, but some of us have had it for much longer.

To that point, @Bill Bauer wrote the following post discussing studies that show a fairly high recovery rate from tinnitus:

Also, try to keep a positive attitude. Many here have found that helpful not only with coping, but can help with habituation.

@billie48 wrote his success story demonstrating how positivity helped him habituate.

@Michael Leigh also wrote an excellent post on the importance of positivity: https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/is-positivity-important.23150/

and the following on negativity and tinnitus

And speaking of @Michael Leigh, I will highly recommend searching out his posts. He is extremely knowledgeable on the subject of tinnitus and has taken the time to write a number of in-depth, informative, and very helpful posts on the subject, and other related topics. Below is a great one to start with. It is long, but it is worth the time to read.

Ive had T for 5 months now and I know anxiety can get under your skin, I deal with that. My T moves around so getting used to is a mountain to climb, mine has dip up and has gone down. Sometimes I turn on water for relief, I purchased hearing aid maskers and I'll wear them until I feel better. Little tricks help. Feel better

If your T was not a result of an acoustic trauma, have you had an MRI done?

I have been to three ENT docs. Just said I would get used to it.
I have NOT had a MRI done, no one recommended it.

I'm afraid that's not a diagnosis. Tinnitus is a symptom, and certainly you may get used to it, but it's important to try to figure out the root cause for it for a couple of reasons:
      1. it may be fixable
      2. it may indicate something more serious is going on, which may require immediate attention
I wouldn't play the waiting game for too long if I were in your shoes.
You can use this Diagnostic Flowchart to get started (hopefully you can get support from your doctors to go through it).

      Good luck!
