In about 2004 I developed tinnitus from Wellbutrin and loud music in a job.

However, as a really young child at 5, I was hit by a car, got concussion and skull fracture. I have looked up the details of my sound sensitivity before but rarely attempted to get a diagnosis. But when I did, doctors, even an audiologist blew me off on testing day due to being on a sleep aid and caffeine.

Now 13 years later I got a simple hearing test.

I believe I have hyperacusis and misophonia. My GP tried to send me to a shrink. I am begging for an actual ear diagnosis. I think he pre-decided that many things I came to him about were all going to be made up.

Hi @TheFlapper - Welcome to the forum. Wow, it sounds like you're not having good luck with the doctors you've seen. I found that if you see a doctor that actually has tinnitus, they're much more understanding and sympathetic.

One tip that I learned is to call a nearby university that might have an Otolaryngology department of something similar. If you contact them, they might know specialists in the area that you could contact.

Are you in a metropolitan area where you can contact a university or search for tinnitus specialists in your area?
