      Hey,

Last year 2018 Janury I got pretty severe tinnitus and hyperacusis, I believe from medication called Lexapro/Cipralex. I was using only 5 mg, the lowest dosage, for 3 days until the 4th morning I woke up to a high-pitched ringing in my ears and moderate hyperacusis.

The weird part is when I was having a very bad stomach flu in February it seemed to make my tinnitus almost totally gone. I could watch Netflix on a TV with pretty low volume without my tinnitus causing any distress.

There's so much to tell... I don't even know where to begin. I can modulate my tinnitus with jaw/neck movement... usually it makes it louder and the pitch might change for a few moments but I have noticed sometimes it goes also down in volume.

I have noticed that my hyperacusis has been getting better in the last let's say 4-5 months.
I have mild hyperacusis at the moment... but my tinnitus seems to be pretty awful still.

I think these are still positive changes. Sometimes I notice when I talk on the phone that my tinnitus goes very low or it might even disappear for a moment... coming back to me in a few moments.

I had very bad stomach pain on Friday and again I noticed when talking to my sister on the phone that my tinnitus had gone away completely. WHAT the HECK is going on? This is crazy?

I haven't had any stomach pain or anything like that from February last year until last Friday so I don't think it's something to do in my stomach. My hearing has been checked 3 times in this time I have had tinnitus and I had perfect hearing. I know they only test from 250 Hz to 8 kHz I believe but still it's good that there is no problem on these frequencies.

I'm having a lot more stress this week so I'm feeling that my tinnitus is more intrusive and keeps bothering me even more now. I just wanted to write in here, it's all weird.

OH hey I just wanted to add that I started having jaw clenching in October 2017.
So I'm not sure if TMJ / TMD is the cause or at least triggering it or making it worse.

I'm trying to cope so please don't totally destroy me with comments and such. :)

Also to add, I had a feeling of fullness in my ear sometimes. I haven't had that for many months now... only lasting for a few minutes. Previously I had it for hours a day.

Warm welcome to the forum @Codeflowd
No we won't destroy a new members with bad comments. We love to have you hear and we understand what you are going through. I personally feel for you much as I did have at one time both loud T and severe hyperacusis (H). That was a horrible time to have both conditions going at me at once and they don't like each other, meaning if I did something to please one, the other would terrorize me. One way or another I had no escape. So I know what it was to have both condition. I was in a mess initially but today I live a happy, normal, productive and absolutely enjoyable life, travelling often. So don't get too down with your condition. The fact that when you get busy or got distracted and you don't hear your T is a very good sign. You are already on the way to habituation. Try to keep getting busy, perhaps engage in something you very much like to try or do in life and throw yourself into it. Then you will realize you will have less and less time being aware of your T. If you have TMJ, then try get a specialist to fix that. If your T fades after that, then you know it is the cause of your T. Good luck. Take care. God bless.
