Sorry but the title is BS. As stated in the article: "An inquest heard Vincent had been struggling to cope with the end of their 16-year relationship before tragedy struck on December 16 last year." and “Their relationship had broken down. Mr Nagle struggled to accept this.” and

"He then continued his spree by returning to his home address in Station Road before launching a “vicious attack” on stepson Nathan, who pleaded for mercy.

The court heard how he said “your mum said there was no chance of us getting back” as he carried out the beatings and left him for dead."

      Tinnitus is barely mentioned.

I read the article. It says that the inquest found that he was driven mad by tinnitus. He wasn't attacking people because of his T, his T made it harder for him to control himself.

      Sad.

Sorry, but the article repeatedly makes it clear that the issue was the end of the relationship. The title of the article is sensationalist BS. And it clearly worked.

How does that contradict what I wrote in my post? Like I said, the fact that the inquest people made sure to mention T in their report seems to imply that it was their belief that T made it harder for him to stop himself from lashing out.

A rabid dog might bite someone who tries to pat it on its head. The problem is not the action of the person who didn't realize the dog was sick, the problem is the rabies.

Antidepressants are a joke. They cause even more anxiety and other unpleasantries. Withdrawal. Ototoxicity. Tolerance. Hardly a solution.

I pray for a cure or treatment.

I read it too, you're definitely right. Just because there's reason A doesn't mean reason B isn't a factor, especially when it's mentioned as a reason. And why would the media "sensationalize" something they tend to ignore?

Just fellow sufferers here trying to convince themselves that Tinnitus isn't as bad as it is. Nothing to see here.

Of course they aren't a real solution, but doctors like to pretend it is because "muh anxiety".

My struggles at work are the same before I got T/H and after I got T/H. But these struggles are now harder to handle and manage now that I have T/H to deal with on top of everything.

He is a killer, no doubt about that, but I'm sure his T is part of what drove him to the edge. I don't see the sensationalism here. The inquest made it a point to say he had T, so they believe it played a role in his mental instability.

My patience and tolerance is definitely lower since getting tinnitus.
Not that I would ever kill anyone, but I'm not as relaxed of a person as I once was.
Absolutely tinnitus affected his state of mind, along with his relationship breakdown.

      Agreed.
T and H make everything harder.
Not sure it helps anyone to share these things though @terry b ...its like waving a flag to say look how bad this sh*t can get.
In all these types of post there seems to be another stressor or mental health issue.
As you say @Bill Bauer it is sad.

I agree. -- I just turn into a zombie and can't get work done properly.

Good diet and exercise is key. -- I fell of that plan but am getting back on before I lose my mind from my crazy loud T.. :-(
