      What's going on?

Had high pitched tinnitus in left earfor nearly a year and now I have louder, more high pitched tinnitus in my right ear.

It has been fleeting for about the last month but tonight is going for at least 40 mins and counting. Much louder too.

Anyone else had this? And any explanation why?

Tinnitus is a brain issue, so can transfer to your other ear randomly. If you had an MRI, it'll show where the hyperactive neurons are, you see them fire up on the MRI and that'll be the noise you can hear.

That fleeting can go away. I had it last night for a couple of hours. No hearing suddenly to start and loud T, that's all I could hear, my hearing slowly came back, the new T sound was still loud for a couple of hours but gradually went away.

Do you have to take a contrast for that?

When my T started in 2006, it came all at once. Lately, though, it has increased significantly ... new tones/sounds, increased volume of old tones/sounds, and new sound movements (the latter of which are the worst for me). Hopefully, this won't be the case for u.

I hate to say it, but when I start having "fleeting" additions or volume increases, sooner or later they end up becoming permanent. I don't know if that's common, but it seems to be the case for me.

      Wishing u all the best.
