My tinnitus came on less than a week ago so it's early days. Other symptoms came on with it at the same time: nervousness of course; but also tiredness, eyes that feel as if they could just close and sleep all day long, headache, "ear fullness", a deep sense of being cold-inside, and a loss of appetite.

In members' experience, could these things all be co-mordities with a shared cause (like a thyroid problem), or is it possible the other symptoms are caused by the tinnitus?

FWIW, the tinnitus is in both ears and it is a consistent high pitched buzz like the noise given off by a malfunctioning flourescent bulb.

I'm seeing an ENT on the 19th November.

The only answer to this is to possibly get tested and see if your thyroids are ok.

It could be possible. The Tinnitus can possibly bring on stress ,anxiety and both of those can do lots of things....to the body and mind.

How you are feeling is quite normal, all of us felt it as well. It will take time, support and a plan of action and possible adjustments to get a grip on tinnitus. I have had to adjust so so so many times, in my 31 years of living with tinnitus.

      Welcome to the forum :)

Most of the symptoms you mention are also common to depression and anxiety. I think you should go to a doctor.

Thanks, James. What you say is very true. However, fifteen years ago I had similar symptoms (minus the tinnitus), was diagnosed with and treated for depression... When all the time I had a pituitary tumour. I'm normally a happy person, so I want to make sure there's no medical basis for this.

Are you able to go see a GP doctor? You may have sinus/ear stuff going on that's causing the tinnitus and making you feel sick in other ways.

Thanks, Solose. I'm seeing an ENT guy in a week. When they removed my tumour they did a transphenoidal op and I've had sinus issues ever since, so it could well be connected. We'll see. Meanwhile I'm assuming that tinnitus is my new life partner.
