Cause of Tinnitus
Cold? Had it ever since
I just want to know how long a tinnitus with a cold lasts for. And is it worth going to an ENT?
I'm 3 weeks in, and no change :(
I really, REALLY hope this doesn't last forever. Sorry for making alot of threads, but I'm super super scared :(

You should go to an ENT, I've also had it for about three weeks, but mine isn't related to a cold. I can't say how long it'll last, but I can say that it helps not to feel scared or bothered. Trust me, I was also very afraid at the beginning, but I have managed to not think so much about it. Prayer helps too, no matter what you believe in.

There's still plenty of time for it to go away by itself, but treatment from an ENT may help.

Tinnitus after a cold can take a couple of months to settle in some cases, so remain optimistic.

Good Luck.

You are responding to a thread which is now a year old. So the ENT opportunity is probably a little overrated at this point.

Those months have come and gone, I believe.

What treatment can an ENT perform to cure tinnitus?

Sometimes decongestants/ steroids/ HBOT etc will help early on, but treatment for ETD, ear infection/fluid/glue ear etc etc may also help. I'm not sure tinnitus 'cure' is always the aim, but treatment of the underlying condition and appropriate management may make the tinnitus less severe.
