Train-Horn on a Small Electric Car

Just horrible. This might be someone receiving the gift of T, caught on tape.

Imagine being a T sufferer, and taking your earplugs out to enjoy the calm summer day, and then hearing this...

Such stupidity and disregard of consequences. How something like that is not an assault by law is incomprehensible. If these guys were causing physical damage to any other body part than ears, they'd get locked up. Imagine someone pointing people's eyes with laser pointer, damaging their sight permanently and then getting away with it because it was "just a silly prank". The "prank" seen on the video could cost someone their silence or bind them to it by hearing loss. Unacceptable and inexcusable.

Makes me angry

I just got blasted with one of these. I hope it doesn't make things worse. T is loud but just normal loud right now.

What happened? Was it a prank?

Nope, just some asshole. I was with a group of people, someone drove by and honked and he decided to honk back with his train horn hooked up to a air compressor. They all thought it was loud and were scared by the sound, I don't know if it was dangerously loud, but it's borderline. I think I was actually about 20 or 25 feet away now that I think about it.

Tinnitus is loud now but not unusually loud for the evening. I don't know how much worry I should give it...

I would beat the whole living shit out of each one of them if they pulled that stunt

There was a large group of people and he wasn't even honking at us. I read somewhere they can be up to 149db, but I don't think it was that loud. https://www.superiorhorns.com/

I didn't have any temporary hearing loss or immediate spike. I just have no reference for how loud things are and not sure if I should be worried or not.

I would really really feel bad for you if you got a worsening from a second dipshit. Sorry this happened to you.

There was a group of almost 20 people around and none of them were holding their ears or anything. They were just scared by it. I don't know...

My current spike didn't come until the day after the last day of work for the week. Now that I think about it, it really was a louder work week/day. So maybe after we are exposed to a loud noise it may take a day or two for it to set in completely.

I know... my initial T onset was like that, I knew something was wrong with my ears, but the T didn't set in till 4 days later. I just really don't know how much worry I should give it. Today I don't have any warning signs like I did with my initial trauma, just loud T, but not uncommonly loud for the end of a busy day.

I actually have some prednisone stashed away, but I'm currently on a low dosage of Trobalt and I'm not sure if it would be wise to mix the two.

So what caused your current spike? How long has it been.

I've been at this for a year and a half and even still I live in fear of very loud noises.

Might not be a bad idea to see if it's safe to mix them, even if its just a low dose.

It has to be from longer periods of chipping at work, bill Bauer helped me with that. Cause there's no other reason for it. On day five of it.

I hope it settles down for you. The longest spike I've had so far is only 3 or so days.

I think I might may try some in the morning. If I took it now I wouldn't get any sleep tonight which would probably be counterproductive.

I didn't see any interactions in my research, but who knows. They work on very different pathways.

Idiots setting off 10,000 fireworks at once, while not wearing hearing protection... (lower the volume on your computer; action begins at 2 minutes 26 seconds mark)

Thats *100* thousand firecrackers! I thought chinese new year was loud!

Reminds me of the first time I heard ringing in my ears ... My childhood friend and I lit off a single firecracker too close and "bam!" It subsided but it probably destroyed a bunch of synapses. It all adds up.

I saw a video like that about train horns on cars before I had T and thought it was ridiculous. Now that I have T, and h, that would be unbearable. Anyone that would pull a stunt like that has some pretty serious issues.

Me too. It was the cause of my T. Some people blasted a train horn at the carnival parade (two people hold it and the other was beeping the horn). It was a big blue tank. I have searched online and found this air horn: https://www.amazon.com/Kaluo-Gallon-Trumpet-Vehicle-Compressor/dp/B076Q7YQMD/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1526058924&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=150DB+4+Trumpet+Train+Horn+Kit,+Loud+Air+Horn+Kit+With+12V+Blue.

I was 4 meters away. They blasted it for 5 seconds and then 5 seconds.

That was my reaction too. I didn't realize how loud it was. I was shocked, didn't managed to plug my ears with my fingers.
