      Eye opener for me!
      You got me thinking.
People can be mean and cruel.

      Are you a teacher?

I also thought about this only after I "came out" to some of my co-workers regarding my T.
      I am a university instructor.

      You are right, don't.
And what do you teach, if I may ask?

For some reason, I thought you had severe t.

I was going to write a private message to you, but your settings don't seem to allow it. In any case, I am worried about maintaining my privacy (so I was going to give you a somewhat vague response). I also don't want to jinx my T, so I would rather not talk about my volume level.

Hi Bill, I'm not sure why you cant private message me. Hmmm … Interesting I tried private messaging Valeri and another member here and I couldn't either.

No worries, I dont want you jinxing yourself. I was just conversing with you Bill. I do understand your concerns about keeping certain things private on here. See you around ok.
      Have a good day,

I got hyperacusis and tinnitus after a TBI (head trauma) so I second this.

Do you still have crackling? My fullness is gone but I still have crackling sometimes without a reason, like before I go to sleep.

It went away. I hope that, in time, yours will eventually be gone too.

Great to hear! What do you think the crackling was caused by? How long did it take to resolve?

I am pretty sure that the cause was TTTS. It mostly went away after about a year, however I wrote the post that you quoted when I was about 21 months in. So it continued popping its head up at random for I would say another year and a half (around 2.5 years in total)...

Okay thanks for answering! I think it's caused by some muscles. Did your ear also sometimes pop?

I don't have tinnitus or so. It's just the fullness feeling that has almost completely gone away but they sometimes crackle and pop.

My problems began with a fullness feeling and TTTS. When I saw an audiologist for a hearing test before my appointment with an ENT, she did a tympanometry test, and my tinnitus turned on that evening. The feeling of fullness went away in a couple of months. In any case, make sure to avoid that tympanometry test, and don't do the other hearing tests unless you have a really good reason to do so.

For a fraction of a second, a sonic toothbrush came into contact with the opening of my ear canal...
