Tuning Fork Hearing Tests

Hi, is this test for all types of hearing loss? Anyone had this done before? How accurate is it when compared to other testing?

Thanks :angelic:

There's many types of fork tests. For example, Weber & Rinne tests are meant to determine lateralization and check for conductive hearing loss.

A couple of years ago I had a bad cold that left me with a weird ear for a few weeks that completely freaked me out of course. They did one of those tests during that time and I heard the tone better from my good side. The ear did get better but I've often been curious if I did that fork test now what would show up. Interestingly I did get an audiogram done back then too and all was within normal range except for a mild dip in the weird ear at the high frequency I think ? To be honest I'm too scared to go back now and get tested again but given my ear sorted itself out maybe it was just a temporary thing from the head cold. The ETD test came back normal at the time though. Sorry for the long post! It really did traumatise me at the time and even now I can still go back to 'hyper focussing' on that ear
