I am looking for medications to help my tinnitus.

What are some treatments that have helped your tinnitus?

I have been reading about 'steroids' - what is it called and how does it help?

Prednisone is the most common oral steroid for tinnitus, but it usually works for sudden hearing loss and when given as soon as possible after the onset of tinnitus, the time frame is very short

For me it didn't help, but took it after 8 weeks of constant t, too late for me, only made the ringing louder...

Thank you for your response and I hope your tinnitus lowers, heals or you eventually get accustomed to the point you no longer hear it. I am currently taking Lipoflavanoid plus and Niacin, they are vitamins, it wouldn't hurt to try..? You have to ask your ENT for the original ones, not the generic.

@Striveon

I've been thinking about taking vitamins and antioxidants (phospholipids and vitamin E) but since my T is probably from ototoxicity, even vitamins scare me..

I know, it is scary, but it never hurts to try? Or just remain as you are if you fiund it worrisome, I'm sure it'll lower as month go by. :( I hate tinnitus, I hope it could just go away for all of us :(
