Cause of Tinnitus

Literally have this on and off buzzing rumbling vibration in my ears. It's been here this month for 3 days now. Woke up this morning and all my head is like buzzing. What the hell is going on now??
Is this normal tinnitus behaviour.
All the side of my cheeks hurting to?
Any suggestions as to what's going on now.

@Fangen do you have "normal" tinnitus to?
Like just the noise. No sensation.
I'm awfully confused as I have this come and go. Last month for 2 weeks then it subsided. And now it's back.

I used to have this before my tinnitus came. But probably once a month and didn't last long.
Now I get it. And it's just awful.
I put my fingers in my ears and the buzzing sensation goes. I can just hear my normal t.
Convinced myself somethings else was going on infact hoping something was going on to cure this sensation. I was coping ok with the noise. Getting used to it. But it's hard to concentrate even more with a sensation to it to

I have only the noise right now. I haven't thought about the sensation, sometimes I find that one of my ear hurts, like inside. But I haven't put to my thought to it, sometimes I feel my head is just a big buzz and sometimes I hear that high pitch "eeeee" more. It just comes and goes. I think it gets worse when I have headaches, that is for sure. Hard to answer really :( T so subjective, maybe I have sensation to your standards but I haven't defined it that way for myself. You get my point. I wouldn't worry to much if I were you, however if you think it has any correlation with your perforated ear drum it can be worth going to the GP. Otherwise, just know that T behaves weirdly the first half year o so, nothing is really "set". After a while (I am on my 10th month) you just learn sort of how it can behave, which cause you to feel LESS anxiety when sounds acutally changes up and down.

Tinnitus has a wide range of severities - the more distressing symptoms you aquire, the more severe it is classified.
A mild T would be "I just hear it in silence, or I have to listen for it to hear it". At the other end of the scale is "My tinnitus screams over traffic and my skull is buzzing".
So is it normal for more than "mild" tinnitus to do that? Yes it is.

As to why it comes and goes, well I guess count your lucky stars it isn't 24/7. There is no rhyme or reason to tinnitus because we are talking about hyperactive auditory brain cells. You can't figure out why electric signals does what it does.

Hope this helps more than confuses.

I'm not a lucky one lol.
My tinnitus has been here for 4 months.
It's never left. The buzzing sensation. Comes and goes. I say that. I had it for 2 weeks straight and it stopped for a week and now it's back. @dan
Does your give s buzz sensation too. Like a car engine in your head/ears. I know a few of my partners have it from being in the army. But they say tinnitus is just a noise. Not a sensation.
As to why it's started to act up with I get out the car like I have no idea but the buzzes have started to get crazy the second I walk through the front door. This is all so confusing. Really making me fed up.thanks for some support. Means alof people are taking the time out the talk to me

Most of the time its a sign your nervous systems is over taxed. You need to take a step back from overworking yourself. Start up Yoga and get some stretching in or to the spa. take account of what you are doing in life and see where maybe overdoing it and try not to clench your jaw or tense up. maybe do some therapy, its not as easy as it sound but its safest to work on yourself and not get caught up in the drama that can go on the internet. the buzzing is your brain telling you to slow down, and change your lifestyle.

also if you do have a perforated ear drum have it checked with an ENT and don't get it wet, it will heal. learn to relax and stopping trying to listen for it.

@whale my perforated ear drum got seen by a gp. Told me it had healed.
2 weeks after that I went back because of my ears been so sensitive to noise. Another doctor told me it actually wasn't healed.
My ENT appointment is in October. So I'm really looking forward to that. As for my ear drum I'm not sure what's going on.
My tinnitus I was getting used to. Coping.
But this buzzing is a hole new level. My anxiety is through the roof. :/.

Perforated eardrums can sometimes take several months to heal properly, so the sensations could be due to the eardrum. It could be spasms in your eardrum. Make sure in October the ENT checks your eardrum properly.

Just stay clam, don't get that ear wet. Anxiety can will make it worse and keep it around longer than it needs to.
ear drums heal, your should be fine. Your anxiety has raised an alert and it's tuning into the issue. Ear events don't cause T all by themselves , you've become hypervigilant. this state of over alterness will tune in to this noise. just keep clam and patient for the ENT, thats one thing ENT's do well is check ear drums. If you stress over this your mind fix on the sound. have faith you are healing. Say it every morning, I am healed and believe it.

Does this only begin after sleep or during stressful times?

Vibration tinnitus has been associated with eardrum issues, perforated eardrums, eustachian tube issues, TTTS, myoclonus and a bunch of other things, very polemical subject with lots of theories and speculation. I have it, I also have a another heightened vibration that responds, echoes and follows external sound and other sounds and sensations like touch or even blinking eyes. high pitched tinnitus is more common and most probably has different origins.

I don't think it's normal for cheeks to hurt. Has TMJ been ruled out?

Good you have ENT. post what they say. maybe they can correct what's wrong.

No nothing's been ruled out. I was actually just reading about that. As I have been having facial pain a while. Before my tinnitus started. This buzzing iv had before tinnitus too. And I'm always clenching my jaw and iv been told I grind my teeth sometimes in my sleep. Guess I'm on a journey to find lit what's going on :(.
I just need this vibration to stop. And let me carry on trying to coping with my normal tinnitus lol rough time for sure.

This is what mine looks like. Used for sleep apnea, TMJD. Also used for snoring and bruxism I suppose. Nothing guaranteed for tinnitus though.

It lasted for the first 6 months more or less on a regular basis, than in the next three months it started to happen less, now it's been some time it doesn't. I didn't have this feeling in the face, it was more like when you're standing next to a base playing a real low pitch sound and it has that buzzing feel to it. (Yeah, I know how it feels to stand next to a freaking speaker playing loud base, no wonder I got Tinnitus - genius :censored:).

If you take a look around this board, people describe a lot of bizarre stuff happening when they first got T. Maybe it's a good idea to check with a specialist.

Yes I fully understand what your describing.
That's exactly how it feels. But sometimes I get pain around the side of my ear by my cheek bone. So would you just sat it was s form of tinnitus.? Did anything make yours worse? When iv gotten out a car mine goes intense. Vile vile vile. X
