I would like to hear peoples feedback/stories on how long they had sound sensitivity/acoustic trauma due to loud music. How long did it take before you got better and or subsided?

Seven years, no better than the first day. Stress makes it worse though.

      Acoustic trauma (club drumming)
My bad hyperacusis lasted just over 2 months after noise trauma. It's dropped down to only hurting when there are loud plates or road noise etc. Retigabine caused it to go away very quickly.

I think k it got better, after a few months initially. Had flare ups when I was learning how to protect my hearing, but with rest it died back down.
It never will subside, I just learned how to deal with hearing constant noise and hope it doesn't get any worse.

Mine got better within months. I still have sound sensitivity but not nearly as bad as it was a couple years ago. My tinnitus remained about the same but I am better. You will get there! Keep fighting the good fight!

Mine took about a year to subside the first time round.

Second time around it took about 4 months.

I still have a touch of H, specific to certain sounds, that never left me. It's bearable as long as I'm away from HGV brakes, pressured air release, clashing cutlery / crockery and suchlike.

Mine was gone after I tried keppra, but I'm not gonna force you to try it. I heard white noises generates help, unless you have reactive t like I did, made it worse as it reacted to it.

I would like to try kepra but I don't think my provider would give it to me especially cause that's off label use
