A world where everything sounds funny
      Tinnitus Since:
      2019 - mild, 03/2021 - the real shit
      Cause of Tinnitus:
Something that cannot be identified by 21st century tech
This question is for people who are already 6-12 months behind their tinnitus onset.

If you had a time machine and would be able to travel to time of few days/weeks after your tinnitus onset, what would you say to your old self?

Would it change the situation your old self is in?

      Tinnitus Since:
      Nov 2020
      Cause of Tinnitus:
My tinnitus started two months after getting COVID-19, so I would need those two months prior to onset to protect myself.

I would also have stopped listening to loud music in order to avoid tinnitus in the long run.

      Tinnitus Since:
1993, increase in 2020, then new in 2021
      Cause of Tinnitus:
Maybe during a soundcheck – sudden sound from speaker
If four and a half months since onset count, it would be to not get sort of addicted to masking my tinnitus with music during night – I think I would have managed to sleep without music even if the tinnitus was intrusive at times (which I actually did some nights).

While working fine for four months time, my ears that week were fatigued and despite a music volume that isn't considered harmful (and despite this night having some toilet paper in my ear to dampen things a little), I two weeks ago woke up to my ear doing this high pitched, warped "chirp" – since then a high pitched hiss is there and also some high frequency hearing loss.

      So sad. :(

I feel so much regret – should have known better and let my ears rest a few days during night. But work and family life kept me going with what had worked and made me sleep well before, I guess.

I also regret that I didn't think of setting a timer so the music at least would have stopped after an hour or two when one is sleeping.

      Oh, the hindsight...
