About two months. Was put on it because of my T, but truthfully I should have been on meds much earlier for different mood reasons. My T is multi-frequency range from mid to ultra high. I firmly believe positivity is the key to improvement, along with supervision from a audiologist/hearing therapist specialising in tinnitus, along with phyciatric supervision for medication.

Definitely doesn't have the effect of a benzo on me, but as far as I'm aware benzos are anti-anxiety whereas Zoloft is anti-depressant. Zoloft also takes a while to get into your system (6-8 weeks I was told) whereas benzos hit me in 30 minutes to an hour. I take 100mg of Zoloft per day (under a different brand name, but same drug). It doesn't 'seem' to do anything for me, but I'm better now than I was day 1, so maybe it has and I just haven't noticed? I also take an anti-anxiety med which is good for sleep and seems more beneficial to me than Zoloft, and I have valium if I need it badly (it saved me in the beginning).

This is my second day on Zoloft, was terrified to take it. So far so good don't know if it's just wishful thinking but my t seems to be less the last 2 days.

looks like you only had this t for a month,,,,have you had ears checked for wax, or do you know how you got it?,,,,,,,how bad is it? did it cause anxiety? or did you already have anxiety?

@Florida John yes I have had it since February 3rd. I did have my ears checked and my right ear was impacted but made no difference when he removed it. I don't know how I got it, I was on my 6thday of lecapro when it started but I really don't think that's what caused it because I have taken it twice before in my life at higher doses and never had a problem. But I had just gone through a super stressful couple of months I suspect stress has more to do with the more I research it. But I also have had ringing off and on my whole life, probably when I was in times of high stress before. And I did already have anxiety.

Update. : I jumped on the horse and took the Zoloft on Sunday night. Yesterday I seemed to have a good day but then last night I woke up with my ears screaming and sweaty where I could not sleep well. As I write this now my ears are still ringing loud. I feel that i could have just made my condition worse. I needed to try and gain control of my life again. Will this spike go down. Any thoughts. I hate this and I am scared that did this to myself once again. The first was getting and ear cleaning cuss I had a lot of ear pain now this. It was a 25mg dose.

I took Zoloft for 5 years, I quit cold turkey, this was in 2007 when I quit. I haven't taken it in 10 years. I developed Tinnitus last year. Could Zoloft be the cause of Tinnitus 10 years laters?

Bit of an update; I've been taking Zoloft now for about 3 months; mood seems better, but T is worse. Is it the Zoloft? No idea, haven't had T that long to begin with. Going to ask my doctor about coming off it and seeing if these new noises go away. Just hoping my mood doesn't hit rockbottom again; it's getting close. Positive Mental Attitude.

Going to take my Zoloft at the end of the day instead of the beginning and see if my T has any changes today.

Zoloft helped me at first, but I'm no longer taking it. It did make me care about T less. I don't think it caused T to worsen. It's probably best to start off at a low dose, and see if you notice any changes, and start increasing from there.
