Hi, I took Pregabalin and it did not reduce my tinnitus. In fact I think it changed the type of sound for the worse. That might have happened anyway though. However, it is a very good medication for extreme anxiety.

That's great because pre existing hearing loss is the major cause of tinnitus with any time taken and amount of Pregabalin. Drug probably caused neurotransmission to the sympathetic nervous system causing tinnitus. Taking mind off tinnitus and lowering stress should greatly improve tinnitus.

Pregabalin works on the brain for epilepsy and anxiety. It could well be down to the medication but should settle down. It works well for anxiety and quite quickly too but it takes about 8 weeks for your brain to adapt to the meds. Your tinnitus should settle down again. Love, Glynis

Pregabalin didnt change the T in 2013 the first time I took it. But in January 2017 when I had a worsening and had to take it again the first night I heard and sort of felt it switch it down. It was lower the next day but by day 3 the effect had completely gone and the T was back to normal.

Tinnitus should improve slowly after withdrawal.

Lyrica (generic name: pregabalin) is an anti-convulsant drug that's prescribed off-label for nerve pain. It helps me but I won't take it long-term because of some awful side effects. :( But it helps with short-term relief.
