iPhone 6 EarPods — OK to Use With Tinnitus?

I did mean buds with isolation but I didn't think about this concept - interesting - though I don't really understand fully how canceling out noise could increase it. I think the sure se215s I use are just isolating and they block out a ton of sound...

Hi, Thanks for Letting Me Join

Bose noise cancelling headphones seem to be doing a good job of filtering out airplane engine noise. 3M Peltor earmuffs are also very good, are a lot cheaper, but are less comfortable.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones — Are They Used to Block Noise or to Listen to Music?

...headphones. The earplugs are there to protect me from the headphones. Of course it isn't a good idea to be actually Using (i.e., play music) headphones. With Bose noise cancelling headphones you can turn on the noise cancelling and not turn on the music, which is what I recommend that you do.

    Bose Noise Cancelling

Are Earmuffs Really Needed? (Traveling / Flight)

Hiking and Camping in High Winds — Do I Need Hearing Protection?

I agree. Ear plugs are supposed to help but the worse the tinnitus is, the worse it for wearing plugs because the tinnitus is isolated or not masked at all as outside noise is blocked off. I don't know if this is a good idea but noise cancelling headphones might muffle the wind enough? I dunno.

Tinnitus Got Worse from Driving a Car with Double Hearing Protection

I have wondered about this. When someone mows a lawn close to me I put them on on and right when they go on, the sound almost seems to go up. Doubling up you just add 5 dB to the other. I've heard, however, that earplugs don't do much below 1000 Hz. My plan was to use noise-canceling headphones...

Best Noise-Cancelling Headphones for Tinnitus Sufferers?

I don't know what reactive tinnitus is, some claim it exists, others say that it's another word for hyperacusis. I don't think that N/C headphones will help with that. Are Earbuds Really More Likely to Cause Tinnitus Than Headphones?

Sound is sound. @Michael Leigh thinks headphones, earbuds, AirPods, bone-conducton headphones and headsets are dangerous and can make you worse, where speakers don't. I don't agree with that. It's fearmongering and not based on reality. The danger with earbuds is that if they are not...
