Question About Hearing Frequencies and My Tinnitus

Not a definitive answer here but if your at is reactive then I would say most likely,a lot of noise induced T people experience reactive T,I don't think I've seen too many if any for that matter who had reactive T from anything else. I could be wrong,if I am then someone can correct me.

I think most people that heal reactive T and H with sound therapy do bc of time and not pushing to hard coupled with natural healing. Not the actual therapy itself. Why would I blast frequencies of the broken nerve or hair cell with that frequency if it’s irritated. That’s just my 2 cents...

@makeyourownluck. Each ear is different. T is one-sided. Loud low-bass rumbling, with PT in background being it's motor. Seems -behind- ear, reverberating via bone conduction so strong at times throughout body, alike a live electrical current in water. Both ears are very reactive to sound.

    Comparing Notes

If that was possible.. I have killer reactive T, every freaking lil sound makes it explode. No need to look for it. I've the feeling I'm probably just one of a hand full of extreme reactive T sufferers here.

    Reactive Tinnitus

...numerous threads about the topic that have already been created before you start a new one, for the sake of clarity on the forum.. I have reactive T too, maybe not that much. Globally there's nothing to do to make it better - that's bad news. Good news is sometimes reactive T stops to be...

@Wrfortiscue heard that! In my post history you can see my progress on my started thread about ear infection last June. New tone and reactive T slowly dissipated to non issue by December. Hoping for the same this time around :)

'Winding Up' Tinnitus... Does It Settle?

I have had my reactive T improve over time before. But I think there will always be some reactivity to it, just reduction over time. If it is linked to hyperacusis (notice most people with reactive T also have H) perhaps it can go away if H does.

Reactive Tinnitus on a Whole New Level

Hi JLP, yes its been reactive since the beginning. But have hope as mine has become less reactive over the years. It took a least a year for me to start to notice and its important not to worsen your tinnitus during that time. Do that and improvement is very likely.

Thanks for the update and sorry it didn’t help. I have reactive T too, does the Nortriptyline help with the reactiveness or volume at all? Staring at a 10mg bottle I filled 2 weeks ago but never took.

I agree to. I developed pain H in my left ear a year ago. (no loudness hyperacusis). The pain comes and goes. When it’s bad I get reactive tinnitus in that ear, and when my ear is not in pain and feels a bit stronger I don’t experience reactive T. Hope you feel better @Emgee Reactive tinnitus is...

    Reactive Tinnitus or Something Else?

My low frequency t reacts to static sounds around the same frequency as my t - fans, traffic, generators, fridge etc. That reaction goes down as soon as the stimulus is removed however. Reactive tinnitus is defined as t that reacts, but stays reactive for hours after the outside stimulus is removed.
