Hi all,

I'm here to say I am lost in addiction to nicotine and alcohol. I can get my tinnitus to lower, and I have the couple times I really gave up alcohol and vaping nicotine.

But as soon as it lowers I'm right back into same routines and I spike to a constant 5.

When I first developed tinnitus it was insanity. Believe it or not I was a second grade teacher.

Thank God it developed in late may and I finished my contract.

Quitting and getting on Clonazepam got me to a 2.

But I suffer from...??? I hate it. I've done therapy, hypnosis, vitamins. The only thing that helps is quitting and I'm stuck. I've read Allen Car 20 times, even before tinnitus hit.

Quitting is so scary because I have 5 kiddos, and I get soooo mad and cry all the time unless I use. I'm a closet user too because my kids are smarter than me and even into their teens they freak if I'm using.

My goal is to have the time to exercise, get out, get a job and be myself. Unfortunately I'm always watching multiple people and can't focus on myself. It always comes down to a melt down which I don't want them to suffer from, just for me to fail quitting again! What a message.

So I have tinnitus pretty bad to get through these particular years.

That's me in a nutshell.

I am not sure if I am competent enough to comment on your drug addiction. This may be in the realm of specialists who can advise you of the proper approach or treatment alternatives to quit your addiction. Perhaps having 5 kids can help you motivate yourself as you surely don't want them to copy your addiction later in their life. Sometimes when we don't think too much about ourselves but about others we love and care, we can reach for that ultimate strength to overcome some tough addiction. That is only my opinion.

Stress management may be something you want to explore as quitting is only one of the ways to reduce stress from work place. There are other avenues out there such as people using CBT and mindfulness meditation to help defuse stress. Other people can tell you, like myself, to use hobby oriented exercises or outdoor activities to help heal and calm the mind to give it the rest it needs. Your goals to have time to exercise and to get out is the right approach to deal with stress. After you learn to manage stress better, then your T will be less bothersome, and you will be able to get a job and learn to handle stress better. Good luck to you. God bless.
 
I think you would really benefit from doing some CBT and seeing a specialist that deal with addiction. Your stress seems to fuel your addiction, which is fueling your tinnitus. Once your stress is resolved everything else should resolve as well.
