Just wanted a clear definition on Allegra-D. Is Allegra-D ototoxic? I sometimes take the 12 hour for my usual congested nose and open up my Eustachian Tubes to allow them to drain completely.

I can chip in on this. I recommend using Kestine (ebastine) instead. It will not affect tinnitus.

I have not had any tinnitus spikes from Allegra-D.

      It is an antihistamine.

I didn't see Allegra-D listed as ototoxic on the websites I looked at. FWIW, I have bad seasonal allergies, and sinus issues in general, and have been taking Benadryl for 20-30 years at night. Never had any issues w/ tinnitus and it definitely helps me sleep better.

I had a massive and permanent tinnitus worsening after Claritin-D a few years ago, and since then my sensitivity to ototoxic medications has permanently increased - I have read all antihistamines have this potential :(

For me most, bar Kestine/Ebastine, spiked my tinnitus and gave me lot of side effects. I’m guessing it’s down to the fact Kestine is without the anticholinergic effects.
