Has anyone notice a spike in perception of tinnitus after visiting a high altitude? I noticed my tinnitus worsen as soon as I arrived in the mountains and even now that I'm home at sea level 5 days later, the volume and intensity are way up. It could be that the mountains were so peaceful and quiet ; I didn't have my usual stressful city life distractions (which I find extremely helpful). Just curious what others here think about altitude and tinnitus. Could there be an increase in ear pressure or is it just psychological? Thanks.

In my case I live at 4100 feet above sea level. When I stay at the beach my intermittent tinnitus disappears. But when I drive back home my tinnitus problems come right back.
