Am I the Only One for Whom Every Sound Environment Is Just Too Loud to Be In?

    1. Yea I can't do that. I wouldn't take a drug without having my pharmacist and doctor on board, but to each their own :)

I will see what my Neurologist says in September. He didn't say no, just wants me to try this other " cocktail" first.

Ask your Neurologist what is the unknown mechanism of how keppra functions and if he/she says I don't know, then why would you trust them? I know how it works, it works on the KV3.a channels, as does Autifony's drug. To be honest, your neurologist wants to give you a toxic cocktail over a safe drug. Now, you trust that person, seriously? Madness, absolute madness.

Dannyboy got his Keppra from Spain. If you want to know more about how he did that, you could PM him
and ask, because he got his without any prescription and that is against forum policy to promote such activity.

    5. I live in Canada. He is my Neurologist. I don't get another. He said that he will give me Keppra if this cocktail doesn't work. He isn't solely treating my hyperacusis Danny, he is treating all of my symptoms.

This "toxic" cocktail was proven through studies to help conditions like mine, which is why he is trying it.

He is a well respected Neurologist with many, many years experience. He is also Chairman of the Neurotrauma Foundation of Ontario -which is a big deal. He is not just another Neurologist and does know how Keppra works LOL..He explained it to me along with the other drugs.

I am not mad! I am not stupid! I know what I am doing and don't just follow advice off an online forum. You could be playing with fire taking the drugs you do. Is it ok to mix them? Is your doctor aware? Do you bloodwork done?

Lastly the other person on keppra updated and said not much if any improvement where you then chime in to try Trobalt. Are you a doctor?

Keppra may have worked for you and it may of not. How long did you have H? It goes away for most people naturally from what I gather on this forum.

But how would you know? I've had it alongside pain for 2 solid years now. I need doctors to help me and he said he will, if need be.

I've seen others H get better from usage of effexor, benzos, paxil, amitriptyline..as well...and TRT.

We all have it for various reasons which requires various treatments.

My doctor is looking to treat the CAUSE and not just the symptom.

      Makes sense to me.

What does the cocktail consist of then?

    7. Why does it matter? Are you gonna suggest a better one for my condition? :)

I already spoke about it anyways in past posts.

Seems like all meds that have any efficacy on T have heavy side effects. It's a vicious circle.

Effexor didnt work for me. Im weening off and feeling a little better. Some of its side effects include insomnia.
Im hoping to fell a little better when Im totally off of it. Weening off Effexor is compared to coming off a benzo.

    13. Yea my docs won't prescribe it for that reason. My one doc had no issue with clonaz though LOL

      anyways, good luck!

    16. Actually Dan only my GP is ok with benzos..every other doctor I've encountered, plus a psychiatrist was not impressed I was on it.

    17. I don't hate benzos. In fact I attribute me still being here to clonazepam. I'm not happy to be on it daily but it is what it is.

Clonazepam has been shown to reduce tinnitus, must be the increase of the GABA levels.

I have been on Clonazepam and Seriquel for over 25 years, I agree with Street Spirit, I could not make it without it. I would never sleep, that's for sure. I never could figure out if it decreased my tinnitus ? or if it just decreased my anxioty witch then lowered my perception of my tinnitus. or maybe a bit of both. All I know is that it helps me.

That's an awfully long time to be on those, but I don't blame you in the slightest. And no, Clonazepam lowers tinnitus by increasing the gaba levels, low gaba levels are associated with tinnitus.Glad it helps you.
