      I feel for you Apolonia. Some people like Bill just prefer solitude and that is okay. You function better with people around you. This situation is so fixable.

      Find a professional psychologist to have "talk" therapy with. In fact interview at least two or three. Write out your situation and what you want to work on so you don't have to repeat it. Then have them read it. Decide in your gut if one fits your needs.

      Can you do something within your community with a group that maybe helps under privilaged people? For example working with younger kids with crafts or school work? Like a big sister situation. Or a food center that helps the homeless? That way you could be interacting with people and helping at the same time.

      Activities that will get you back out there and make new friends also.

      This gives purpose to life and a sense of well-being that helps with being so alone. And you would have reason to dress up and take care of your looks at the same time.

      Good to read you are working on your education!
      Maybe your thesis could be about this subject? Then you can start finding focus. That first sentence is the most important.

      Thanks! This means that Split and Dubrovnik might be ok, right?
      That's ok, as long as your grades reflect the effort that you had invested into your studies. You learned how to learn and how to work and be productive, even when you don't feel like working.

      Sounds like you have a good future ahead of you: you live in one of the few nice places on Earth, and you are not going to be a "bum."

      Thank you for understanding my situation. I really appreciate IT. I am a social Being and Just feeling isolated from People makes me ill. I Got tinnitus BC of this problem... I was so lonely , no one needed me, no one called me to go out , to do things.... I felt so desperate and empty... I remember , I would sit by a window, smoking cigarettes and listening to music on headphones bc I would get so anxious from the loneliness... I really need help BC I can't find a way from this vicious circle.. unfortunately , I live in a small town and Here these types of help you mentioned don't exist... I need to go to the town where I study and I Will do IT... I am just not that type of person who Will sit and read a book... I get anxious even from that....

      I want to maintain anonymity, so I would rather not be specific. Let's just say that it is one of the quantitative disciplines at a business school.
      Thanks!
      Have you experienced any fading compared to how it was back in January?

      Ok. Np. I though you teach literature BC you sound Like a literature type :)
      Nope... IT changes a lot... But never in a way that IT is fading... Also for us women, IT can be terrible during periods... :/ But when the period is gone, the loudness of T is gone as well...

      It is scariest when it is relentlessly at the same level. I am glad to hear that at least yours changes a lot. We know that yours Can getw quieter. It is natural for a human body to heal, so hopefully months from now it will get quieter for good.

      The fact that it depends on your monthly cycle might mean that there are drugs out there (that influence your level of hormones) that might help with your T. You might (eventually) want to tell a doctor about this peculiar property of your T, and the doctor might be able to recommend drugs or therapies for you to try. For example, it is possible to imagine that a birth control pill might have a positive impact on your T (but please keep in mind that I don't have any medical background, so make sure to confirm this with your doctor)...

      @Apolonia,
      I just wanted to see how you are getting on with your tinnitus and how you are feeling.
      Tinnitus and low mood can take away your confidence and self worth but as we are not born with them they can
      be learnt again over time and start to move on in life.
      I spend a lot of time alone due to health issues but I do work and have 2-300 children around me and other staff and work colleagues and I'm a first aider als0 dealing with minor injuries and some needing hospital or doctors treatment and love my job I have been doing well over 20 years.
      Life changed loosing both my parents close together so missing not have them to care for and also both sons grown up and moved out but see them a lot and my gorgeous grandson whom sleep over a lot and have my family close by and not forgetting my lovely cat and bunny.
      Spending a lot of time on your own can be good and I'm fine with it but when your feeling low it is best to get out a bit and find things to do.
      I think getting your confidence back will be the first step and feeling good about your self.
      We are here for you so see what you can do each day to put a smile on your face and see what you can do to socialise .
      Look up local events in your area......love glynis.

      I am ok. I went out for a cup of coffee and I am reading something for my thesis.... I am very late with it bc I could not do anything for months. I was paralyzed bc of my situation... IT is my brain that Just won't let focus on important things. I mean when I look at myself ... I am successful, I worked a lot for that success... Last year I was supposed to finish my studies but I prolonged them bc I Just could not work. My anxiety was overwhelming and loneliness Just made IT worse... I Did seek help but I have to admit finding the right psychologist who would understand my problem is very difficult. I talked to Several of them and I felt Like they did not understand my anxiety.... I was on the edge Several Times before my tinnitus... So when I Got this IT Just made my overall condition worse... I hope I Will find a way out from my brain. or I think I Will go to a psychiatric hospital....I am very close to becoming a lunatic...

      You can try taking drugs that promote circulation (e.g., tebonin, etc)...

      @Apolonia .
      Menstruation can cause spikes in tinnitus,you can get over the counter tablets to reduce water retention something like Waterfalls and also take iron tablets as anaemia can cause tinnitus also.
      I had the same problem and had bloods done and now treated for anaemia so it would be worth getting your blood checked also . Hormones have a lot to answer for ....love glynis
