      ACOUSTIC TRAUMA
So in this thread there is lots of information stating that NT3 may restore hearing and reduce tinnitus following acoustic trauma.

While there seems to be no way for specific NT3 treatment in humans yet, some are taking Astaxanthin since it apparently can increase NT3. However, after phoning around locally, many shops recommended Zeaxanthin would be more effective, as it is better/more readily metabolized. I can only find 4 mg Astaxanthin capsules, but can get 10 mg Zeaxanthin.

Does anybody know how Zeaxanthin relates to NT3?If it is comparable to/better than Astaxanthin.

Also worth noting is that most these supplements usually also contain Lutein? Any word on how that would affect the ears?

I have taken 12 mg Astaxanthin plus 4 mg Zeaxanthin for 8 weeks. Just another waste of time and money.

I got acoustic trauma tinnitus while I was taking Astaxanthin and Omega 3 for my severe dry eyes, so I know at least it couldn't have protected my ears...
