This was a reasonably high profile case in Wales recently. James Ivor Jones had a severe case of Tinnitus/Hypercausis and took his own life. His son has set up a page to raise funds to go toward Tinnitus research in the UK. Very sad case, if anyone is feeling generous, here's the link to the page

I've no link/ association with any of the parties involved, just thought it deserved a mention and hopefully they can reach their target.

If only he came on here. We could've saved him. I feel saddened that I couldn't have helped.

@Danny Boy
it's very hard to live with tinnitus and hyperacousis
I spend all my time listening to music. but for some one who has hyperacousis he can not mask his tinnitus

Well, he had really bad hyperacusis...Just rustling of plastic bags would be too much. That's horrible.

Thankfully cases like his are rare. But it does go to show that information is lacking and so is empathy and understanding from the medical community. I understand this mans desperation.

It could've been any of us. I'm thankfully doing a lot better these days and this community is partly the reason for it.

Same here.
