Hello
First Time posting.
I always seem to be fiddling with ear wax either putting my fingers in my ears to clean the wax (daily) or using a match to take out the wax. I am just a really bad fidget and know something I should not be doing but cannot seem to stop. Its one really bad habit I have.
Around 10 days ago, I was cleaning the wax with a match in my left ear. I never insert the match deep perhaps 1cm maximum and always do it softly
On this occasion, I went in hard at the top of the ear carnal (around 1cm in) and suddenly noticed a slight buzz straight away like I had injured my ear. Difficult to describe but like a small frequency wave.
Stopped and didn't think much of it. Carried out with my usual activities of listening to headphones while running for around 45 minutes or listening music in my gym (at around 60 decibels) for 40 minutes. I have noticed the tinnitus has got louder few days after like a higher frequency. Its not affecting my sleep but just bit annoying when I am working at home and just concerned I may make it worse as just cannot make changes in my lifestyle than means reducing the time I listen to music and maybe reducing the volume (it isn't that loud at the moment)
I went to see my doctor and see said the inner left ear is slightly red (compared to my right ear) and maybe an slight infection. Gave me eardrops (cannot remember the name) but never used them as I read somewhere they may cause more harm than good. Not sure doctor really understood Tinnitus
Last year I did go clubbing quite a lot and noticed in or two clubs the music was actually hurting my ears as it was so loud. Not sure if is relevant since the damage seem to be self induced though my have contributed perhaps making my ears sensitive.
I know its only been 10 day so I guess I may need to wait and patience. I thought it maybe due to earwax being pushed near my eardrum but the fact I went in hard at the top of the carnal and suddenly the buzzing happened probably isn't the case of ear wax being the problem
Would love to hear your views and advice - Thanks
