Oh that's awful. I was so excited to read about this and emailed Shiloh with Mailing List in the subject to get on the email list. Has anyone emailed ldalton@mail.wtamu.edu and put on the mailing list that way?

Christy, you can read the latest posts in this thread and you'll see dichonics is still active and may be releasing something this month.

Thanks! The information is better presented and more complete. But what really matters is that the technology should give some people relief! :)

What gives me the shits is that the device is nothing more than a dumbed down mp3 player. but with a 1,000% price mark up. It is disgusting. I have been doing some contract work in a hospital soon to open. All these medical suppliers have ridiculous prices on their products.

they use a standard samsung galaxy tab, it's android based so even if you don't like the software, it's still useful for something else

Dumb question from a newbie: how is this different from Neuromonics which has been out there much longer?

From what it's supposed to be and from people who tested the solution, this is not "acoustic therapy", it's tinnitus cancellation from a special square wave form. It could be compared to residual inhibition that lasts longer. Residual inhibition is a few seconds, this can work from a few minutes to half a day. If this works for you, you can have tinnitus cancellation in a matter of minutes after the system correctly is set up.

I have not tried it and i probably won't be trying it soon but i'm interested in testimonials.

Thanks James! You tried trt? I finally have my tinnitus eval with an audiologist tomorrow. I know others have posted about Neuromonics on other threads here and will check those.

My tinnitus doesn't bother me that much so i'm not interested in TRT. I do a lot of music so it only bothers me that i damaged my hearing a bit.

I personally think neuromonics is a waste of money. It's way too expensive.

Yeah, its a boatload of money. Well, I'll see what the audiologist says tomorrow. At least the input here, vs. marketing baloney, gives me some perspective. My T, which I suddenly picked up about two months ago, has triggered panic attacks. So I really am looking to move on to acceptance and habituation.

      Hi All,

Is the price still around $1500? And does he do unilateral tinnitus?

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

I don't know of Dichonics' eventual treatment cost, but you probably already saw this: http://dichonics.com/log_on_to_begin

The initial screening seems to be free, and after that:

      aX4JZ4M.png

If the tablet is a genuine Samsung Galaxy Tab, then that's not the worst of the deals.

      If it doesn't work;
$250 out of pocket ($450 initial cost - $200 refund for the headphones), and you get to keep the tablet.

I don't know why it's not possible to return the tablet, however, but if one doesn't need it, then that can be sold to a 3rd party.

It's another question completely what does it cost to continue the treatment after this assessment phase, if it does work... Is it a monthly fee? Per session? How much?

I feel Dichonics' website could be designed a bit better, but at least this is a step up from the previous one.

      Markku,

Thanks! :) The price is quite reasonable, and Galaxy tablets usually get good reviews. (Hopefully, it is a Galaxy; you're right about that.) And compared with SoundCure or Neuromonics--Dichonics is very cheap. I bet Dr. Dalton is targeting people considering those two technologies.

If Dichonics charges monthly or session fees, I can't imagine them coming close to Neuromonics. But, if it's a long protocol, it might be comparable to SoundCure, e.g., about $2K.

I agree about the web design issues!

      Hey Guys

I know someone who has been beta testing this and the tablet he received form Dr Dalton was not Samsung but Nextbook. Nonetheless, if it runs the software fine (it is android based) then it should still work. Only been testing for a little while so not sure what the results are. When I hear back, I will update this thread.

3 week update with the Dichonics tablet and the news is not good. No improvement in his tinnitus, but he is sticking with it for time being.

Is there any news on this ? It looks like no one tested Dalton's therapie yet?

The website still looks very strange for me.

Just went back on the Dichonics site, and they report they are currently offline. But Dichonics is supposed to announce something about their therapy and limbic involvement.

One can assume what they will report. But it is incomprehensible that the company maintains such an amateurish web site. The home page looks like something from my Roku. The site desperately needs a web developer. Even if they would just use something like WIX and plug in their content, it would be a major improvement.

How could a company with actual MEG results on tinnitus reduction have a website that is so unprofessional?

Ive been researching for 2 months since getting T and can find no drug no supplement no sound therapy that in general consensus makes any dent in T whatsoever. Isnt it a case that nothing makes a difference bar relaxing and getting some rest...

Another "sound miracle" (or whatever-the-hell-it-is) bites the dust???

And "drumming"???...not "ringing"??? Mmmmmmmmmm...even in Zimbabwe we have T ringing in preference to drumming.

True, that website is horrible to say the least. :) I wonder if this community could offer Dichonics a) 'crowdsourced R&D' and patient trials, and b) assist them in crodfunding? Oh yes, and also set up a simple WordPress page for them to replace the current one... ;)
