If fixing tinnitus was as simple as just taking Ketamine, MDMA or mushrooms then we would all know about it by now. De Ridder is pairing the drug with other things, so unfortunately it is nothing that we can emulate on our own.

I disagree. We must be aware that using these drugs medically is at its inception. We still don’t even understand how some of them actually work in the brain and other parts of the body. This also means that dosing plays a big part and can be the difference between having no effect and basically curing some maladies. I think as people begin to self-experiment, the amount of anecdotal data that is being generated and shared is increasing drastically and that’s good news for us because we don’t have to wait for lengthy, politically complicated, trials to finish before receiving some information on treatments.

There are people doing DIY bifocal stimulation and other types of treatment modalities with varying success. It’s possible, in my opinion, that we might even see a very effective treatment by combining one of these drugs (Ketamine, Psilocybin, LSD) in a micro/macro dose with binomial stimulation. Perhaps using bifocal stimulation for 3-4 days after a heavy dose might yield incredible results because the brain, neurons and peripheral organs might be primed to revive treatment.

These are only examples and my opinion, but certainly something worth trying.

Does anyone know the status of this trial?

Last time I spoke with Dr. De Ridder about it he mentioned end of this year to have something conclusive.

Last time I spoke with Dr. De Ridder, I asked him about this trial. He mentioned that they do not have favorable results so far. As the trial is still ongoing, they are making changes on the treatment protocol in search of positive outcomes.

When I spoke to Dr. De Ridder, he told me that Ketamine might increase tinnitus so I guess they are not anymore focusing on this treatment option.

@EDDTEKK, that makes sense as reading through the thread a few people said it did increase their tinitus, especially in higher doses.
