I hear my heart beating and breathing sounds in my ears. It has gotten more frequent and louder over the past 8 years. It goes away when I am on my back or put my head upside down between my knees. I also suffer from chronic migraines and gastroparesis, neurological disorders.

Wondering if my eustachian tubes are affected by my nervous system.

I also just read tight neck muscles could cause the fullness I feel in my ears and throat. C

ould muscle tension cause the pulsating ears?

Been to 2 ENT who only found a slight hearing loss but no cause.

I'm 48 years old and searching for answers.

Given that Julie has had this condition for 8 years, isn't it likely to be benign?

I've had mine for over 12 years which started soon after an acoustic shock. It hasn't changed much in that time but I now have higher non-PT following further acoustic shocks this year.

Not necessarily. But it can be. I don't know if it's worth the risk of not having it investigated. ENTs are not the appropriate doctors to do this.

If you are hearing your breathing in your ears or your voice especially if it clears on putting your head to your knees, you might have Patulous Eustachian tube. I saw ENTs for 6 months before I found it on internet and they confirmed. I also now have Pulsatile tinnitus.
