Since I made the video, now I also have a low pitch sound at 385Hz when I hear a plane/truck/other low sound.

This thing happens to me sometimes, always when I wake up in the morning. Especially while rubbing clothes. I don't know why it happens, but always dissapears in some hours.

But its a recurrent thing, maybe twice a month.

I relate it with my sleep apnea.... when I have this in the morning I always confirm with my wife that I snored louder that night... but it is just an hypothesis.

      The best for you,

Yes, my reactive tinnitus is the same. It's funny because I thought these things were unique to me! Thanks for sharing this. I have hope for treatment however I'm too tired to type out my theory haha I'll comment tomorrow.

Mine use to be like that before, even when I was walking in-doors with socks on, any static noise really. It probably disappeared about 2-3 months ago though, so be hopeful if it bothers you a lot.

Mine was really bad like that in the first year. It wasn't just a sound either, it was blended with an equivalent physical sensation. I'd have to say it blurred the line between being a sound and being a tactile sensation.

If you subtract the super high pitched ringing sound and just have the hissing sound in the background, that's what mine sounds like normally. If I have a spike it's pretty close to your video.

Mine reacts badly to cutlery, spoons on china and (dont laugh..) flushing toilets. :wacky:
The T is there to begin with (but in the background) and it reacts by hissing much louder if I hear any of these noises.
It hates White Noise which I know some people use to mask.
      Its a damn weird thing.

Not laughing, I can assure you. Same for me too with white noise. Can't use maskers because how do you mask white noise with more white noise.

I got this in a smaller degree. If I click my mouse, knock my finger on the table or brush over my clothes I can hear a sound over it and almost 'feel it' inside my head/ears. Its actually pretty strange since the sound I was plagued with in the start has gone down by quite alot but this phenomenon has not changed a bit. Luckely I cant hear this sound over water while its running.

I get the same stuff if I listen to music at a moderate level and then sudden pause it, the sound gets much higher for like 0.5 - 1 secound and then it goes back to baseline...its almost like its competing with the music (but I cant hear it) and when it stops suddenly it takes a moment to calm down.

Sorry to hear that you too are suffering this horrible thing.
I wish I had an answer for you...I am still searching and will let you know if I find anything that works.
I actually find low bass sounds more relaxing to my ears.

I had this during my first 4,5 months of T (not as severe as in the clip though). It disappeared gradually. Plain T is nothing compared to that shit. It made me feel so low. You have injured your ear, and this weird reactive metallic echo is a symptom of that. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

It's also kind of a whooshing sound like, you know when you blow into the top of an empty beer bottle? That low pitch airy WHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM sound. It also depends on the angle at which my ears are facing the external sound that is triggering my reactive sounds/distortions.

@LowHumPulse, I experience something very similar, although not quite as severe as in the video you linked. Whenever I'm around white noise (road noise while driving, boiling kettle, electric fan, A/C systems), I'll hear a dial-up modem sound over the actual noise. Sometimes it's also more like a whistling- or siren-like noise. Mine also changes based on how my head is turned relative to the source of the noise, or if I hold a hand next to my ear.

I really hope that this goes away, in my case this bothers me much more than the T itself (which is fairly mild). Have these symptoms changed at all since the onset of your T?

@Casper never lose hope that the T and other noises can go away. many people have success and do not post online about it!

Hey @ryan1234, thanks for the encouragement. I still really hope that it will go away. I think being optimistic is good, but if I truly want to habituate, I'll probably have to learn to accept that it might not (or may take a very long time).

@Casper I understand my friend!!! hopefully it goes away and you won't need to concern yourself with habituation. obviously try to focus on it as little as possible

I have this as well - about 4 months into T. I feel as though its slightly less intense than it used to be, but still there. Its much more noticeable if I'm stressed or tired. The tone has also changed from a distant vacuum cleaner noise to a slightly less pitched computer-fan kind of noise.

Really hoping it goes away some day, it makes watching movies a challenge

I can play up the scale until I hit a certain point above the C after Middle C, then the sound acts like a Rinne test and goes straight into the damaged ear like a spike. Its the same principle where the damaged frequency picks up all the sound.
