      hi Dr Nagler
      do you have any idea what could be causing my constant ear ache? nothing i take it taking away the pain.
      am currently writing to see ent after doctor saying ear drums were dull
      have finished a week antibiotics in case of infection but still this damn ear pain
      along with the dreaded tinnitus i actually think i could deal with it at the moment if it wern,t for this awful ear pain

      Hi Kayla -

      When a doctor describes an eardrum as being "dull," it can be a sign of fluid build-up in the middle ear, which can be incredibly painful. Without evaluating you myself, I really have nothing more to add except that even if you have to pay out of your own pocket to see an ENT on an urgent basis (and bypass the NHS), then that's what I would do.
