      Hi all,

I am right now experiencing an increase in volume with very unstable tinnitus.
I have tested wearing earplugs during some hours of the day and it seem to calm T down.

      Has anyone experienced this?

I have never heard of this before. Does it still work?

Yeah I can have this happen if I'm in a noisy environment. My T reacts to noise so can get insanely loud if the surroundings are noisy, earplugs help reduce reactivity in this type of situation.

      Certainly does for me.

However, as many will point out, it is not good practice especially in the early stages of the condition as you will experience hyperacusis. I'm guessing that it would interfere with the neuroplasticity of your brain to retrain those affected neurons. Occasional use is probably fine on those days when the world is against you with their noise. In fact, I'm wearing some now.
