Eli Lilly strengthens RNA pipeline with $1.3B biobucks hearing loss pact

The article mentions that Lilly, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, has partnered with South Korea's Rznomics to expand their research on hearing loss. I think this is great news, as funding for hearing treatment has long been neglected. It's encouraging to see this development, along with Tinnitus Quest taking up the charge to make a difference.

It seems promising, but I am concerned about the mention of "inherited hearing loss." Hopefully, they will also focus on hearing loss caused by damage.

Then a paragraph later, "The treatment will be focused specifically on sensorineural hearing loss, which is the most common cause of hearing loss."

I'm actually very excited about this. They have the funding to fast-track the research, and I do not believe they would have started this project unless they thought it had strong potential to be highly profitable—and, most importantly, that they could find a way to reverse hearing loss.

The issue with most companies is that they are at least ten years away from delivering results. But with this company, it might be different. It could be a game changer, and we might receive promising news around the six-year mark.
