Just need to understand why this happens.
3 days in a row almost no tinnitus, only when waking up. I felt so happy.
But yesterday it was so loud, I could not mask it. So I felt depressed again.

It's hard to deal with it when it's like this.

      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Noise induced
My tinnitus changed in 2008 after a 2nd noise trauma to fluctuating tinnitus. From: silent, mild, moderate, severe, and extremely severe. It took 4 years to habituate and it was very difficult.
The tinnitus no longer reaches extreme severe levels that would last for many days without a break. It now fluctuates: silent, mild, moderate and severe. I can go to sleep and it's completely silent and wakeup and it's very severe. After an hour or so it'll calm down to moderate or mild but not always. These large fluctuations my ENT consultant and Hearing Therapist, have said they don't see many patients with this type of tinnitus. I take clonazepam when it is severe and it usually calms it down to mild or silent. I take clonazepam about once or twice a month for up to 2 or 3 days.

I have accepted it and cope with it the best that I can.
      All the best
      Michael
