I have tinnitus that registers in high frequencies, and hearing white noise causes it to get really loud for a short period of time. But I can still hear up to 19 kHz like I was able to when I was 18 years old. I'm 30 now. I also got it from what I believe to be ototoxicity from alcohol, which no one else has seemed to report happening. Tinnitus and its origin seems to be as unique to the individual as our own fingerprints.

Biotechs are incredibly risky. They can shoot up or down 300-400% overnight! Very volatile. With that being said, I still plan to pick up more shares of Frequency Therapeutics before they announce their phase 2 results. Been following them for a long time and trust their leadership.

Whatever DID happen to that guy? Maybe he got bitten by the sea anemone he was trying to shove down his ears. LOL.

16 kHz is pretty impressive. I'm only 33 and my good ear tops out at 14 kHz. The bad at 12 kHz.

No hearing loss. Good speech in noise recognition. Don't think about your tinnitus too much. Learn to live with it.

      What a joke.

Let's hope it pans out, and it actually can help people. It's nice to see slightly promising results, but this isn't the first drug for hearing loss or tinnitus that's made it to phase 2. Statistically speaking this is still almost definitely going to fail.

      Hi,
Could you please give an example of a small molecule drug trialed in the past that failed.
Also, any drug for “hearing loss” be it stem cells or not a small molecule drug... anything.

      Thanks.

AM-101 (Keyzilen) was given Fast Track status, and it failed.

There's actually loads of drugs that have been given Fast Track Status and they failed, many Alzheimer's drugs too.

Hearing regeneration ajc, not drugs in general.
If you know of examples of failed drugs for hearing regeneration, please educate me.
      Tnx.

No , not any drug which have had “ FDAfast tracking status”, your words.

any drug concerning “ hearing regeneration”

specifically hearing regeneration, be it small molecule or “ any drug” including stem cells for “ hearing regeneration “

      that’s clear, yes?
      Thanks in advance

I'm not going to let the cynics and negativity mongers shit on this thread and this technology.

Go FX-322, kick ass and grow some hairs in phase 2.
      Fingers crossed.

No, it didn't fail. They just narrowed (or changed) the indications and are continuing the approval process. This is a quite recent video that the company posted.

Wrong. It REALLY failed TWICE in phase 3 trials, and they always continued by changing the outcome endpoints.

Basically they are on life support, trying to make the phase 3 work a THIRD time.

Tinnitus occurs due to the hyperactivity of neurons, right? Now the question is: does only damage to hair cells produce hyperactivity in neurons?

There's research that just loud sounds with little to no hearing loss alone might be enough to trigger it. Dr. Shore looks into this in her research.

Right, people go to college to learn how to talk like this in front of cameras. I know because when I was in grad school I paid my tuition by working in the college's TV Film Radio degree program.

That's possible. It's also possible it's not. You don't know.

Honestly, the fact that it all went away in a year's time essentially doesn't say too much for the drug... but it's refreshing to see someone claim actual real result.s
