      Dear friends,
Thank you so much for all your continued support over this last 6 months. It meant a lot to me. Today I am started Neuromonics Oasis treatment. I really hope it will work. I am going to try my absolute hardest to make this happen. I will therefore not be able to talk to you anymore (even though I thought talking to you was in fact a very positive thing). For the next 6 months I am not going to talk or read about tinnitus. Most likely I will log on again then just to check in on all of you. I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope that you can learn to live life fully without being dominated by a noise inside your head. After months of research I still feel like I know nothing about tinnitus, but that's ok. Just like if you need heart surgery you dont need to be a heart surgeon to do the right things so I am going to listen to my audiologist and stop looking for that magical cure that simply does not exist. I love you. Best wishes, Nina xoxo

Dear Neeni , there may or may not be a cure for t, but we can always try to bring the
T volume down with supplements and diet. Wish you all the best with the treatment
And I hope you'll return to update us. Bye for now xx

As I see it (and I'm sure some will disagree), trying to bring down the volume of tinnitus with various supplements is a total waste of time. If there were a supplement that could predictably lower tinnitus, there would be a reliable and verifiable published study conclusively demonstrating efficacy. And there isn't.

I think all the supplements become is a placebo, you believe it will and T lowers, T is all perception, its not even a noise... I realized the only person who was going to lower my T is me.. and its better.... believe me when I say I was on the verge of putting a round thru my skull to end the headaches and the noise... now I love life again....but this is my story, everyone has there own....

Well those Are your opinions and I have a different opinion, about diet plus supplements and everyone has a different story about what helped them and what didn't.

Right. It is my opinion that alternative treatments like supplements do not work for tinnitus. But it is a fact that there is not a single legitimate study published anywhere demonstrating that supplements are any more effective for tinnitus than placebo for tinnitus. You know what they call alternative medicine that works? They call it medicine. The only reason it's called "alternative" is because it has not been shown to be any more effective than placebo.

      Best to all.

Magnesium ( to name just one ) has helped quite a few people on the forum.
I have meticulously experimented with different diet and supplements and I know what has helped reduce my T.

I'm not in a position to dispute any individual's personal experience.

But one wonders - if it helped all that much, why is she still here on this board?

The placebo effect can be a very strong effect indeed.

and magnesium may not have helped some as our bodies absorbs only 20% to 50 %
Of the magnesium we take. There's something called " Boron" which helps the body absorb magnesium. Boron is present in some foods too like raisins which I eat everyday.

I'm still on this forum because I've learned a lot and it was very helpful for me in the first few months when the t nightmare began. And I feel compelled to help new sufferers ,plus my t has not gone away completely, it's just a lot better.
However this conversation just might aggravate my t , so I will log out for a while now ,lol.

Sherri, I think it's really great that your tinnitus is a lot better.

Am I correct in my understanding that you are ascribing this improvement to the pharmacological effects of the supplements you take?

May be this is due to deficiency of:
      1. Vit B12
      2. Vit D
      3. Serum Iron
Carry our appropriate tests to evaluate the above. in my case all these parameters were low, particularly Iron was low, i started taking iron suppliments advised by the doctor, i am feeling much better now. if it works for u please share with as many sufferers as possible and to me also.
also check if u have any allergy, and treat it.

      Best Wishes. :) Ajay
