:) Thanx. After onset, i ignore that, because i knew nothing about tinnitus. I thought, it dissapears. This was big horrible mistake, because after acustic trauma, you should go to ENT imediatelly and get some prednison influsions with vitamines and vasodilatation drugs. I went there 10 days after accident. Too late.
Than I tried hyperbaric chamber (1.month after onset, because i didnt know about this type of treatment before).

Now i am taking betahistine, ginko, vitamines (A, E, C) some Magnesium and Calcium... camomile tea, but without results.

      Welcome to the forum!

Very sorry to hear you got your T & H from such a brief exposure. I never would've imagined a motorcycle could get that loud on startup, muffler or no. Alas, you'll find here people with all sorts of silly and odd reasons for having T. Mine came from a Nintendo DS charger!

I'm sorry to hear you're having such trouble sleeping still. I've been using Melatonin tablets and chamomille/valerian tea myself, it seems to work for me most nights. If your sleep troubles remain particularly bothersome, you could get your physician to prescribe a sleep aid. Getting a good night's sleep is essential; I find my thoughts about T weigh much more heavily on me when I've gone without proper sleep. I hope you find something that works for you soon!

(And I agree with Stina, your pictures are pretty cool! I especially like your noir-ish pieces.)

Hello Johno! I also probably made the mistake of not going to the ENT fast enough but I guess I just have to live with now. Also Im afraid of prednison (took it one time and ending with up with a swollen face for half a year - looked like a pigs butt.. probably not as bad as T though). Anyway - there are many-many other options that you can try! Check out our treatments section. I agree with Smoogle - maybe you could benefit from some antidepressants and sedatives (your psychiatrist can refer you to the ones that do not cause T). This can help you get back on your feet. Also, psychotherapy can help you deal with an. And hearing aids might also help.

      To Smoogle:
Hello :) machinegun noise of motorcycle was amplified by closed concrete wallse of his garage. If this happens outside, i think, my ears are in perfect condition. I can sleep only with earphones - music+white noise (but very low volume). I have xanax, but this is not good antidepresant. And thx :)

      To Stina:
Maybe it was an alergic reaction (prednison). Most of antidepressant can cause tinnitus, this is the reason, why i am afraid of them. But maybe i should try it. :sorry:

Yes it was indeed an allergic reaction. I also took it quite big quantities. Well anyways makes no difference now because its my 7th week in. Also, I dont think prednisone always helps:) Dont beat yourself up.
As for the depressants, I think there are still some which do not cause T. Im sure smth could be found. There is actually a psychiatrist on our board (forgot his name but you can find him a little bit before you in the forum "introduce yourself". You can consult with him and ask what doesnt cause T:) That would make you feel a lot better.

Yes thats true:D The medical system in Estonia should be called "Dont get sick or die". Fortunately, we still have many good psychiatrists and even a tinnitus specialist! Im going to see her on Monday. I think with a little bit of googling you could find some good doctors in your country as well.
