long term noise exposure (headphones), maybe some stress.
I tried taking raw curcumin powder everyday for a shorter period. It did nothing for my tinnitus, but I did experience some reduction in the intensity of my hyperacusis.

But I must admit it is impossible for me to keep eating this everyday. Tastes awful and too much of a hassle mixing it with fat and pepper (for better absorption).

Are there any curcumin pill supplements that are good?

At least. Sometimes I just dump a bunch in my hand without counting and gulp them down.

I think I'll give that a try. I have a liquid form of this stuff too but it tastes terrible, I imagine what rotting orange juice would taste like.

Perhaps mixing it with CBD oil would be of greater effect..

I was doing that and didn't really notice any enhancement. Maybe I will try again.

I had some quiet when taking Methylprednisolone 4 mg dose pack. Not so much taking curcumin. I've heard of some people getting nausea from curcumin.

      Curcumin
      • Digestive issues: People may experience mild digestive issues such as bloating, acid reflux, flatulence and diarrhea at daily doses exceeding 1,000 mg ( 19 , 20 ).
      • Headache and nausea: Doses of 450 mg or higher may cause headache and nausea in a small number of people

      What product were you using?

When taking it did it reduce the intensity of your hyperacusis permanently?

It's a danish brand of organic curcumin powder from a little store in my town (I'm Danish).

No, sadly it did not reduce it permanently. The effect wears off after I stop taking it...

Very interesting. Have you ever had the Turmeric with black pepper (all in one capsule) to increase bioavailability? If so, did it make it worse or better?

Yeah, but the pure curcumin absorbs very well if you just take it with a meal. 9/10 times after I take it at dinner, the next day my tinnitus is basically nito.

      John,
Not sure if you reside in the US or not. I live in the US.

Could you have a look at the following Amazon link:

      https://www.amazon.com/Me-First-Liv...00BCN1CF6/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Is this the type of Circumin you would suggest or can you direct me elsewhere? Purchasers of this product seem pretty happy based upon reviews of lowering inflammation....which I believe is speculated to be the underlying contributor to tinnitus volume....a theory of why Circumin may help at least.

Also, can you please tell us your body weight and how many mg you take per day? Did you arrive at your dosage by trial and error? Do you experience any side effects?

Many thanks for sharing this potential help with us.

      I think it's is this:
      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19879308
      ~150 lbs > or = 3,000 mg per day.
Yes! I started at about 12,000 mg per day and after awhile determined 3,000mg was my therapeutic threshold.
Yellow finger nails and fingers only.

Take it with dinner. I do and the effects manifest the next day.

Cool. I recommend you start on large doses and work your way down. You can take up to 12 grams per day. Be prepared to turn your socks and bedsheets yellow though. The effect should be pretty immediate, as in by the next day.

      Hope that helps my dear.

I've just taken a 600mg Curcumin by HealthAid, (standardised with Piperine) whatever that means, and my tinnitus is absolutely raging since I took the first pill. Is that a coincidence or is this a thing?

Is Curcumin an Alpha 5 Reductase inhibitor? I blocked that enzyme taking Finasteride. I want to try Curcumin for tinnitus but I fear it will be like poison for my body.:(

      @JohnAdams
I take curcumin extractum pills. It claims that a pill (100mg) equals 3000mg of the original curcumin grist (I hope that this is the correct translation). Is this BS in your opinion? That was the only product which was available for me at the moment of purchase and I got it from a normal drug store. I don't think it helps, but doesn't make any harm either.

I dunno. Make sure you take it with food and up the dose a little.
