Maybe I'm mistaken, but I was under the impression that there are no hearing aids on the market that can physically produce sounds above 8 kHz. We can certainly create notched audio files above 8 kHz, but I thought hearing aids were not capable of generating sound in that range.
Good question. I don't use it with my hearing aids—I use my Bose headphones for that.
I'm one of those unfortunate people for whom the Neosensory Duo actually worked. And two months after I bought the system outright, they closed up shop. It was the only thing that truly worked for me.
Now, I'm back to occasional IV Ketamine treatments, which were recommended by my audiologist. I can't seem to let go and accept this. I feel victimized, since my tinnitus resulted from a brain injury caused by two rear-end accidents in one year—neither of which was my fault.
I'm also extremely sensitive to sound. So when four audiologists told me they could help, only to later say I just needed to change how I feel about it and suggest therapy instead, it left me incredibly frustrated.
Even the way doctors in therapy videos pronounce tinnitus bothers me. I say "tin-ay-tus," and they say "tinna-tis." It drives me crazy. I feel like the only control I have is pronouncing it in a way that makes sense to me.
I get angry. I honestly feel like this will never end. But the Neosensory band gave me 10 to 15 minutes of peace.

I just learned from ChatGPT that there are ways to hack Bluetooth devices. It sounds like the NSD uses BLE-type Bluetooth, and I'm going to devote my time to seeing if I can write an app that can communicate with the band.
The company shut down in February and announced that the device would stop working. They told users they could save their settings, but they only notified people by email—and I never received one. That was a really terrible way to treat customers.
The device was still working in May 2025, but in June, it stopped letting me log in and told me to contact customer service. I had no idea the company had shut down. When they didn't reply, I searched online and found out they were gone.
