Hi folks, I'm in a bit of a state just now. Recently I've felt me Tinnitus particularly in my left ear has gotten louder (after a botched Microsuction procedure 2 yrs ago). I had my custom plugs in last night and when I took them out I felt a real heaviness and numbness in my left ear. It feels like my left ear and side of the head is heavy and numb. I'm absolutely terrified that I'm possibly loosing my hearing and enclosing this noise!!!!!!

PLEASE HELP with any advice as I'm in such a blind panic.... thank you xxxx

Has this happened before? Did you go to a loud show/event last night? Has anything changed recently in your routine(s)? I'm sorry that this has happened to you. If things really get bad, possibly go to er?I feel pressure and a bit of heaviness in my ears daily. The numbness(in your case) is what kinda surprising to me. I really hope things turn out ok for you.

Please keep me/us updated.

@fishbone Thanks! No, I've not done anything unusual or exposed my ears to anything dangerous. I'm totally at a loss with this hellish condition! I'll go and speak to the doc on Monday, I reckon it's hearing loss of some sort :(

How is your wee dog?

I am no dr, but I read that stress/anxiety/panic can possibly cause numbness. Please try to remain calm till you see your doc. Yes, it can be a hellish condition and all of us are lucky, that we have this board and each other.

My dog is doing fine, she beat the expectations of the dr that wanted to put her down. I am inspired by her strength and her willpower to live. She's been running around like a little puppy and has made her daddy very proud.

If you ever need anything, I'm here for you :)

@fishbone Thank you. I appreciate that, thank you. I have been stressed, my fibromyalgia has been kicking my ass too which has been making me really anxious and I've has terrible stomach pains so I'm sure that won't be helping. So glad to hear your four legged friend is doing better!! :)

I could have written the same post myself. Daily stomach issues (acid reflux) and horrible limb pain/burning w/fibro. It feels like an alien has invaded my body. I have no control of the body unfortunately but I have full control of my mind and heart. The intrusive tinnitus is there as well, but the fibro/body pain and oddness gets me way more....

Even with all this havoc, I am still in the gym 5 days a week....

Stay strong!

PS-Due to my stomach issues, I am creating new eating habits to help it out. It's a bland and boring food menu, but that's just how it's going to be. The stomach pain makes the fibro ten times worst and it's pure hell.....

Even with the hell I live with, I am still very blessed to have the willpower to want to make a positive change and impact in my life! That will never go away!!!

@Vicki14 It good to know that you don't have ear wax. If you have a cold or your sinuses are active then that can could cause numbness from the ear plugs. The nerves in the ears need oxygen so when a cold or sinuses conditions are present your muscles can also contract. Your symptoms with any associated spike should settle. If you know what your normal temperature is, then take a reading. If your reading is a little high then the problem is probably nasal or a cold.

@Greg Sacramento
It would turn out I do have wax in it.. not sure why the Audiologist didn't detect that last week... According to the Doctor he said there was 'gunk' in there! I'm going to try almond oil drops and hope it eases some and can the Tinnitus reduces!! I'm avoiding the manual removal route and Microsuction!!!!
