      Hello everyone,
I have had continuous experience with tinnitus since around 2012. recently, about this time last year the intensity escalated to unacceptable levels interfering with my sleep pattern, ability to concentrate, and on occasions was a contributing factor in me becoming irritable in situations that would otherwise not bother me.

Currently I am awaiting an appointment with en ENT specialist following a consultation with an audiologist, his tentative diagnosis is that there is conductive hearing loss in the right ear and the left ear is within expected parameters for a person in my age group late 50's).
currently I have experimented with a few therapeutic options (masking, meditation, etc) the latter appears , at least in my case, to be the more effective in managing the symptoms and getting at least a half way decent sleep.

Thank you glynis, much appreciated. so far this forum seems to be the only one that is both lively and balanced in its approach. other places seem to promote snake oil( and that's putting it politely!!)
