      Hi,

I had tinnitus since 2 years in the right ear.

Then I slapped myself with my hand on that ear 3 times, but not as hard as I can.

But now I think it becomes worse.

Can a simple slap like this damage the ear permanently?

There was no damage on the eardrum, the ENT said a week later.

A large surface like the palm of a hand slapping something small and narrow like an ear canal can cause a sudden change of pressure and damage the ear. A bit like when you tap a bottle of beer on top of another open one and it froths up. (Sudden change in pressure)
There have reports of perforated ear drums with 'happy slappings' - it's dangerous.

If you can only hear it in absolute silence, how do you know it's become worse?
